Our client is a global reverse-logistics company specialising in returns services for goods purchased online. Their business model involves creating branded online portals for retail clients, enabling the public to arrange returns and refunds for online purchases. The key performance indicator for a new system was the time required to configure and deploy new retail portals. Their existing process took several weeks — a major bottleneck preventing them from scaling their retailer client base and delivering a competitive service.

The backend is extensively integrated with the client's carrier systems, providing bi-directional data feeds for verifying and validating returns, receiving shipping details and postage labels, and obtaining tracking updates in real time.

Third-party service integrations

Additional integrations include global address lookup, email and phone number verification, maps, currency exchange, and payment processing — giving each portal the full infrastructure needed to serve consumers internationally.

Retailer admin and reporting

A portal order administration area allows retail clients to manage their returns, create manual return orders, and access reports and statistics — giving each retailer full operational visibility without needing to contact the logistics provider.
